Georgetown University Begins Design for Historic Chapel Renovation
Georgetown University in Washington, DC, is working with Kerns Group to prepare program requirements and planning study for the interior renovation of Dahlgren Chapel and the surrounding landscaped courtyard areas.
The chapel is a 19th century masonry building and has been the home for student’s daily Mass for decades. Expected renovation will improve lighting, liturgical furniture, acoustics, flooring, hard and soft landscaping. By introducing more light into both interior and exterior spaces, the improvements should help illuminate not only the existing building, but the spiritual lives of those who use it.
